Using as its background the celebration of 450 years since publication The Lusiads by Luís Vaz de Camões and several discourses which have originated in media around those same celebrations, this paper aims at analysing contribution work for shaping development Orientalist discourse Portugal. I begin listing terms that used to refer Africans, Middle Easterners Indians then compare them with modern representations peoples. conclude that, despite temporal difference, are defined continuity similarity rather than rupture difference.
